Volunteer programme

Crisis Text: Volunteer Programme

This remote volunteer role involves providing real-time, text-based crisis support to people of all ages, including children and young people. Volunteers must be ready to work within clear clinical, professional and safeguarding responsibilities.

Eligibility overview

What applicants should have in place.

Recognised pathway

You must currently be enrolled on an accepted clinical, psychology, counselling, nursing, social work or related registration pathway.

Time commitment

You must be able to volunteer for at least four hours every week for a minimum of 12 months, with a target of 200 hours.

Safeguarding readiness

You must understand that recognising, recording and reporting safeguarding concerns forms part of the role’s responsibilities.

Suitable home setup

You need reliable broadband, a suitable device and a private environment where crisis-support conversations cannot be overheard.
